SUMMARY:RYA Level 1 (Adult)
DESCRIPTION:The RYA Level 1 – Start Sailing course is for complete beginners\, and teaches you all the skills and theory necessary to get you helming a dinghy confidently\, initially with an instructor in the boat. You will learn to sail on a reach\, go-about\, and how to stop the boat\, progressing on to sailing upwind and downwind\, During the two days\, you will spend maximum time on the water in Wayfarer’s. \nAll equipment is provided\, including a wetsuit and buoyancy aid. \nThis is a two-day course\, 7 hours a day\, and upon successful completion of the course\, you’ll receive an RYA Level 1 certificate. DESCRIPTION:The RYA Stage 1 is part of the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme\, providing an enjoyable and progressive way to learn to sail. \nDuring the RYA Stage 1 course\, you will learn the basics of sailing\, parts of the boat and how to launch\, recover and steer. After completion of the course\, you will understand the basic principles of sailing in order to move onto Stage 2. \nDuring the course\, you will spend maximum time on the water in Oppys\, with the instructor close at hand to guide you safely and expertly throughout the day. All equipment is provided\, including a wetsuit and buoyancy aid. \nIncluded in a RYA Stage 1: \n\nRigging\nLaunch & Recovery\nRopework\nSailing Techniques & Manoeuvres\nClothing & Equipment\nCapsize Recovery\nMeteorology\n\nThis is a three-day course\, 6 hours a day\, and upon successful completion of the course\, you’ll receive an RYA Stage 1 certificate. DESCRIPTION:Having completed an RYA Stage 2 in Picos\, the next step is the RYA Stage 3 Course. \nIn the RYA Stage 3\, you will continue to develop rigging and sailing techniques\, capsize recovery and sailing theory\, as well as launching and recovery skills. This course is for those looking to build confidence and develop the skills needed to sail upwind and downwind in moderate conditions. \nWe will look at sailing a triangular course using the five essentials\, coming alongside a moored boat\, picking up a mooring and Improve on rigging\, sailing theory\, launching and recovery. Boats used will be Picos\, Lasers and Fevas (dependant on conditions). \nAll equipment is provided\, including a wetsuit and buoyancy aid. \nThis is a five-day course\, 6 hours a day\, and you’ll receive an RYA Stage 3 certificate on successful completion. \nRequirements \n\n\n\n\nWater Confidence \nRYA Stage 2 \n11 – 15 years old \nBook onto RYA Stage 3 here.
