DESCRIPTION:The RYA Stage 1 is part of the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme\, providing an enjoyable and progressive way to learn to sail. \nDuring the RYA Stage 1 course\, you will learn the basics of sailing\, parts of the boat and how to launch\, recover and steer. After completion of the course\, you will understand the basic principles of sailing in order to move onto Stage 2. \nDuring the course\, you will spend maximum time on the water in Oppys\, with the instructor close at hand to guide you safely and expertly throughout the day. All equipment is provided\, including a wetsuit and buoyancy aid. \nIncluded in a RYA Stage 1: \n\nRigging\nLaunch & Recovery\nRopework\nSailing Techniques & Manoeuvres\nClothing & Equipment\nCapsize Recovery\nMeteorology\n\nThis is a three-day course\, 6 hours a day\, and upon successful completion of the course\, you’ll receive an RYA Stage 1 certificate. Logbook and certificate included in the price. \nTimings: 10am – 4:30pm everyday \nRequirements \n\nWater Confidence \nNo prior knowledge or experience of sailing is needed to take up this course. however the Oppy Taster is recommended dependant on age. \n7-10 years old \nBook now.

You will learn to sail on a reach\, go-about\, and how to stop the boat\, progressing on to sailing upwind and downwind\, During the two days\, you will spend maximum time on the water in Wayfarer’s. \nAll equipment is provided\, including a wetsuit and buoyancy aid. \nThis is a two-day course\, 7 hours a day\, and upon successful completion of the course\, you’ll receive an RYA Level 1 certificate. During the two days\, you will spend maximum time on the water in Wayfarer’s – with the opportunity of sailing a single-handed boat\, with the instructor close at hand to guide you safely and expertly throughout the day. \nAll equipment is provided\, including a wetsuit and buoyancy aid. \nThis qualification is the pre requisite to hiring dinghies at most RYA recognised centres \nThis is a two-day course\, is 7 hours a day\, and upon successful completion of the course\, you’ll receive an RYA Level 2 certificate.
